The Elementary Program
Our Elementary Program continues on from the Casa program.
The foundation in each subject area has been laid. The
consistency for the student makes the transition into an
elementary program very easy. The classroom is set up in a
similar fashion, in as much as the student is able to choose
work from the shelf. The colour coding of materials in the
math, language, grammar, geography, time lines, and science
area all continue for the child's easy recognition.
In the senior elementary classroom, cathedral ceilings and
large bay
windows overlooking a treed ravine create a spacious atmosphere
where nature is never far from view. The children have a
garden area where they have planted over 100 bulbs, which
produce a spectacular show of spring flowers. They plant
vegetables which are harvested, prepared, and then enjoyed
in a luncheon at school.
The children in the elementary program participate in many
field trips during the year. Some of past trips have
included: University of Western Ontario, art galleries,
museums, snow shoeing, the Byron Bog, and live theatre
productions. We are always
planning new and exciting trips for the children.
